Are you graduating high school or college graduation day is just around the corner and it’s such a big deal, right? It’s the moment you worked so hard for, and it FINALLY pays off. You get to walk across the stage while all eyes are on you. Of course, you want to look STUNNING. So, let’s talk about a super important part of that: your graduation dress!
Why is White the Right Color for Graduation Dresses?
Choosing the perfect dress for graduation isn’t just about looking good (although that is a big part of it!). It’s about finding a graduation dress that represents you and how far you’ve come. White is the perfect color for that. White dresses are like the VIPs of graduation attire.
Huh? Let me explain!
White dresses are timeless and classy. They’re like a blank canvas, ready for you to paint your own future on it (figuratively speaking, unless you are extra fancy haha). They capture the whole “fresh start” vibe of graduation day.
Convinced white is the right color for your big day? Go grab your credit card (or boyfriend hehe?) and look at these amazing dresses I found!
Short White Graduation Dresses
Try short white dresses if you’re afraid of looking like a bride on your graduation day. The brides mostly wear long white dresses, so no worries about hearing wedding jokes and your graduation day.

Okay, okay! I know what I just said but LONG white dresses can still work if you do it the right way! Long dresses seem more mature which is a perfect statement since you’re entering the real adult world!

Don’t Forget the Most Important Step!
Once you’ve found the perfect white graduation dress, don’t forget the finishing touches that can make all the difference! Are you a gold or silver girly? I haven’t really checked professionally but I like to think that I’m a gold kind of girl and you?
Don’t make the mistake of making your dress look cheap by adding some cheap jewelry! I know it’s an investment, but it will last sooo much longer. If you have a dress that has a lot going on already, try only adding a few small pieces. If you have a simple dress, try rather big jewelry. Don’t go overboard though!

When choosing shoes, don’t make the mistake of choosing style over comfort! I’ve been there and never worn them again, what a waste…
Most want to wear high heels of some sort but they can still be comfortable. I would stay with the color white since we don’t want to steal the focus from the dress. Consider having the same texture on your shoes: lace, shiny, satin, sparkly, etc. And make sure the white is similar. Yes, there are different grades of white just as there are different shades of grey 😉
As for hair and makeup, let your dress guide your decision-making. If you have a detailed or open back, consider an elegant updo. However, if you have spaghetti straps and a zipper in the back, let your hair down. What about some lose waves or are you lucky enough to have naturally curly hair? Let me know in the comments!
Conclusion
One thing is clear: The question is “What white dress should I wear?” and NOT “Should I wear a white dress?”
If you prefer a short, long, elegant, or fancy white dress is up to your style. There is a pros and cons to each one. Don’t Forget at the end of the day it is about creating lasting memories with your friends and family. Celebrate what you have achieved and be proud!
